In Reddit’s latest official blog post they shared their companies core values with their user base. The post is meant to make it clear to Reddit’s user base the website’s priorities and their values as Reddit has recently experienced controversy over their administration practices and the legal troubles of their CEO, Ellen Pao, who recently lost an important court case against her former employer and was widely criticized on Reddit and elsewhere for false accusations.
Creating these values was a broad and iterative effort that included company-wide discussions, employee-led committees, and open feedback forums. Because of this, every one of us can confidently stand by these values and commit to following them both in the way we operate internally and how we interact with the community.
Despite the controversy, Reddit continues to grow quickly and continues to be ranked among the highest traffic websites in the world, at rank 25 in the most recent analysis by Amazon’s Alexa.com traffic statistics service.
